Advancement News December 2011

The Advancement Office would like to extend a tremendous “thank you” to all of our parents, students and friends who have volunteered over October and November at our many different events and mailings. We began October with the Fall Foliage Festival, followed by the Walk-a-thon, and then our Wine and Beer Tasting event.  Thank you Shaliene, Noah, Owen & Ava Marie Roy, Melanie Boucino, Marion Slattery and Darlene Gauthier for representing SAS at the Fall Foliage Festival.  Thank you Taylor Bottum, Sydney Marshall, Ellen & Concetto Marino, Valerie Berger, Charlotte Lauzon, Christine Keesler, Caroline Christiansen, April Thomsen, Martha Chamberlain, Mrs. Hicks, Mrs. Bunel, April Ruopp, Liza & Skylar DiMartino, and Jeff Gambuzza for helping to make the Walk-a-thon such a successful and fun event.  A huge “thank you” is extended to Liza DiMartino and Sarah Landi for all of their time and talent in putting together an absolutely beautiful and wonderful Wine and Beer tasting event, along with their volunteers, and Tom Hicks and Matt Palmer in providing music for the evening.

 In November, we mailed out postcards to pray for our deceased loved ones, followed by the Annual Fund mailing and our catalog and pie fundraisers.  Many thanks go to Pam Meholik and her volunteers for coordinating our catalog fundraiser, and Lyman Orchard Pie Sale and distribution, which ran so smoothly. Thanks also to all of our mail volunteers: Joannie Jespersen, Marie & Charlotte Lauzon, Joy Devanney, Shaliene Roy, Vanessa Millard, Cathy Sommaruga, Jeanine Soucy and Pam Meholik.

Upcoming Events:

Parent Commitment update letters will be coming home with your oldest child in early December.  Families with children only in Pre-K are required to raise $200 for the year, while families with children in grades K-8 must raise $400 toward parent commitments.  Your letter will include what you have earned using our gift card programs, walk-a-thon pledges (85%), 100% of any Annual Fund gift, $6 per pie sold, and 45% of catalog sales.  If you have any questions, or need information about our gift card program, please call the Advancement Office at 860-379-5410.

Annual Gala Auction meetings and work have begun to make this year’s Annual Auction a success. Anyone wishing to join in on the fun, can come to our next Auction meeting, Tuesday, December 6th at 6:30p.m. in the cafeteria, or call the Advancement Office to see how you can help.

April 28, 2012….for our 10th Annual Gala Auction at the Cornucopia.

June 2, 2012…for our first Annual Young Alum reunion at the Parish Center.

June 18, 2012….for our 23rd Annual Golf Tournament at Fairview Farm Golf Course.
