Lunch Prices and Information
Mrs. Ciarcia and Mrs. GubettaPlease send your child’s lunch money in an envelope marked with the amount enclosed, their grade, as well as their first and last name. This will ensure that your child receives the correct credit. You should also keep track for your own records.Students will still purchase lunches on Monday mornings before school. Milk, Water and Yogurt are available for purchase on a daily basis only. Weekly or monthly payments may be made. We encourage pre-payment as the lunch lines go much quicker if the children do not have to handle money. However, we do ask that you keep track of the days your children eat and are absent. We do our best, but we make mistakes. Checks should be made payable to Winchester School LunchLunch: $2.50; Milk: $.55; Yogurt: $.50; Water: $.50; Juice: $.50Specials are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only.Bagels, Grilled Cheese, Macaroni and Cheese. All served with salad, juice, milk and dessert.A new alternate lunch program will begin on February 1, 2009. Each week the Winchester Lunch Programwill offer only one alternate lunch option which will be available Monday through Thursday for that
week. For example, for the first week in February, the alternate lunch is a cheeseburger. Your child can
order a cheeseburger Monday through Thursday in place of the indicated main lunch item. For example,
on Monday, February 2nd students may order chicken nuggets or a cheeseburger. All other items listed
for that day will be the same. Each week the option will change from a cheeseburger to a hot dog, etc.
As last year, per the Winchester Lunch Program, we can only allow 2 charges. Please make sure your child(ren) comes to school with cold lunch or money for hot lunch.Families with a letter from the State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services, please send in this letter to school. You DO NOT have to fill out an application. ALL other families applying fill out one application per family. PLEASE read the enclosed instructions carefully when filling out your application. It is most important that you list the Grade of every child on the application. Please note *Families receiving State Medical Assistance only DO NOT automatically qualify for the program. You may apply based on your income. We do verify all client numbers submitted. IMPORTANT: Families coming from another school district that previously qualified for the benefits of the school lunch program MUST fill out a new application when registering in Winchester Schools. Students who participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program and bring a lunch from home may purchase milk for .50. We do not participate in the Free Milk Program.
