As Catholic educators, we minister to the whole child—mind, heart, and hands. In a trusting Christian environment, we enable the child to grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually.

Awakening the child’s innate desire to learn, we foster creativity and excitement about learning by facilitating a stimulating environment.
Understanding students’ uniqueness in personality and differences in learning styles creates opportunities to discover, explore, and question, thereby providing an atmosphere in which each child can succeed.
Above all, our setting nurtures the child’s spiritual relationship with God and self and facilitates a caring attitude for others.
Sports are an integral part of St. Anthony School for grades 5-8. Programs may include girls’ and boys’ basketball, cross country, girls’ softball, and boys’ baseball. Other programs may be added depending on student interest and availability of coaching.
The aims of our sports programs are to teach the principles of good sportsmanship including the understanding and acceptance of the rules of the game, to encourage the attainment of skill, to stress fair play, to achieve self-control, and to accept defeat with grace. Students are taught to respect the authority of the sports officials, to demonstrate friendship and courtesy to the opposing players and to each other, to encourage leadership initiative, good judgment, and cooperation, to recognize the purpose of athletics is for the enjoyment of the students, and to develop character by promoting the physical, mental, moral, social, and emotional well-being of the individual players.
Cross Country
Students are encouraged to join the SAS Cross Country team. No one is cut. We strive to teach the fundamental skills and strategy to compete in meets. We aim to build self-confidence, promote physical and mental health, and learn good sportsmanship. The team is coed and open to all students in grades 6-8. Come join the fun!SAS Cross Country Rules

SAS Before and After School Program
Dear SAS Family,
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing summer and a great start to the new school year. I am really excited to be working with your children as the director of the afterschool program! We have some fun ideas and events planned for this year; please continue to check the newsletter for more information and upcoming events!
Please make sure you have returned your registrations as they are needed to attend the program. An important part of this registration is the names of individuals that will be allowed to pick up your child/children from the program. We will not send your children home with anyone we do not know. If someone different will be picking up your child, we will ask for photo ID and check the names on the registration. This is for the safety of everyone! Also, please remember to send a note in at the beginning of the week indicating the days your child will be attending the before/after school program. The cost for the program is $4.00 per hour for the first child and $3.50 for the second and third child. Just a reminder that before/afterschool program payments need to be paid in a separate check from lunch payments. Before/after school checks should be made out to “St. Anthony School”, lunch payments to “Winchester Lunch”.
During the afterschool program, we will offer a healthy snack to everyone at no additional charge. For children who plan to attend the before school program, we offer an optional breakfast of cereal, bagels, and fresh fruit. This breakfast is provided through our lunch program for an additional $1-2.
We have a before and after school program cell phone for emergencies. If you need to contact someone during before/afterschool hours, the cell phone number is: 860 806 5247. Our email address is Before.After.SAS@gmail.com. Please feel free to email any questions or concerns.
I am looking forward to a great year!
-Shannon Bailey
I am asking each family to fill out the form as this will be essential should an after school emergency arise and you need to use the service. No child will be allowed to attend without this form.
Should there be a change in your child’s schedule over the course of the week, please send a note to the child’s teacher, as well as one to the Before and After School Director. This will help us to ensure that your child is where he/she should be.
